I grew up in southwest Florida along the Gulf coast. I earned my B.S. from Florida State University where I majored in Biological Sciences. I then earned my M.S and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, both in Microbiology. I earned my M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I then did my residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Finally, I completed my fellowship in forensic Pathology with Augusta University and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. I am board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.

I initially transitioned when I was 18 years old. After a number of years I de-transitioned. Upon completing my medical training, I made the decision to re-transition so that I could return to living authentically as myself. I love reading, attending the theater, and rowing.

I am a nationally credentialed and Georgia licensed APRN and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), dual credentialed as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). I hold a Master’s in Nursing, Midwifery, and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (Frontier University), a Bachelor’s in Nursing (Emory University), and a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Psychobiology (New College of South Florida). My thesis defended at my baccalaureate exam focused on neuroscience and mind/body connection of human reproduction. I have 11 years of higher education related to my work, endless additional trainings, and 21+ years experience in my field. I am also a Master Herbalist, and served our community as a home birth midwife for 9 years at Savannah Midwifery. I am passionate about the lost art of touch.
